I am a 1993 graduate of Northern Illinois Universitys Physical Therapy program. As a native of northwest Illinois, I grew up boating and fishing on the Mississippi River. My husband and I moved to Fond du Lac in 1999 and consider Fond du Lac our home.
My decision to become a physical therapist grew from my passion for exercise, nutrition and understanding how important it is for each individual to be responsible for his or her overall health. Additionally, I have found, and often been told by patients, that movement helps them feel better. The real challenge is helping people to understand that exercise is simply movement.
My treatment approach is to use my manual skills to help improve tissue texture or assist a joint to move better, and then educate the patient in methods of helping themselves. Healing is a process, and can be facilitated and guided to avoid increased pain, reinjury or incorrect healing. I like to show patients how to incorporate bouts of exercise into their daily activities.
My passion for helping people become pain free and improve their lives is a very rewarding experience. It is extremely satisfying to provide people with skills that are beneficial now, but will also help prevent recurring problems over the next several decades. Your body is so amazing - dont take it for granted.

| The majority of my post graduate coursework has involved exercise prescription for soft tissue and joint injury, manual therapy, movement analysis, womens health and pain management. I thoroughly enjoy participating in ongoing education. This field is so exciting -- there is always more to learn. |
