  Growing up in a family-owned excavation business, I realized the physical stresses of work tasks and developed an early interest in work related injuries. My career focus has been pain control and therapy for hand and arm injuries, but I have also had extensive experience with neurological conditions. Additionally, I have always held a special interest in work related injury prevention and ergonomics.During my career, I developed an interest in industrial rehabilitation and injury prevention programs, and became active in consulting with area industries. In 1996, I completed advanced education in Certified Hand Therapy. I have found Back-in-Action to be an excellent environment for sharing expertise with many highly skilled and knowledgeable therapists. My real passion is for direct patient care. I believe the key to therapy is in patient education and setting realistic goals at the onset of care. My role is often to be an educator, therapist, coach, cheerleader and friend. I believe it is important to treat the whole body as a system and not just to treat the injury. I assess movement patterns in daily activities and incorporate movement retraining with activity modification in almost every patient’s care. My treatment approach is holistic, giving full consideration of the relationship of the mind and body in health and injury. I am committed to compassionate care, and I thoroughly enjoy what I do.
